Inline ImageTHE THINGS by Wraith, has been released!

Wraith has produced a a PULP FICTION style interweaving of the the 1982 and 2011 versions of The Thing into a single cohesive story which switches the action back and forth between the 2 movies without ruining either the tension or build up. Careful trims to the 2011 (T11) version remove a few overly CGI shots and keep the reveals less explicit until the 1982 version (T82) does its Thing. From there each film loses about a third of its material; but the progression is almost undetectable and the final running time is 2h39min, a very respectable length and consistent with many big blockbusters but is NEVER bloated.

Inline ImageSHORTENING THE VOID by firstling faneditor MrGone, has been released!

This is a fanedit of Enter The Void

MrGone: "I saw the original film at SXSW 2010. I didn’t care for the movie. I thought it was too long and drawn out. I thought it had some interesting ideas, and the cinematography was great, but unfortunately for me the movie didn’t work. But, it stuck with me and the more I thought about it, the more I thought it could be made into an interesting short film. So that’s what I set out to do. I kept the story focused on the main character, the relationship he has with his sister."

Inline ImageGRINDHOUSE VOL. 2: DEATH PROOF/MACHETE by Leeroy, has been released!

Second part of the grindhouse universe series that connects Robert Rodriguez / Quentin Tarantino movies into a double feature.
    - Two separate sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a scarred stuntman who uses his “death proof” cars to execute his murderous plans.
    - After being set-up and betrayed by the man who hired him to assassinate a Texas Senator, an ex-Federale launches a brutal rampage of revenge against his former boss.

Leeroy: "After coming across an interview were tarantino talked about his movie movie universe in which he explained that Kill Bill would be the kind of film that his characters from other films would watch. With this in mind I wanted to create a grindhouse universe in which characters and actors would regularly appear and the trailers showcase the universe in which they all inhabit."

Inline ImageSTAR WARS - EPISODE III: DAWN OF THE EMPIRE by L8wrtr, has been released!

The much-anticipated conclusion to L8wrtr's Prequel Trilogy is now complete, and also available in High Definition.

Building on the improvements to characters, relationships and motivations made in his edits of Episodes I & II, Dawn of the Empire creates a subtle but more realistic and tragic fall from grace for Anakin. This edit provides a more comprehensive and emotionally charged conclusion to the Prequels in preparation for the Original Trilogy.

Thank you to all the voters and all the editors who had a fanedit released in March!
One of our most prolific faneditors, BionicBob has finaly won the FEOTM with his Star Trek fanedit: “THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY”. A new version of Star Trek Nemesis.
    Congratulations, BionicBob!

The NexGen’s final theatrical outing was a messy affair, plagued with an uninspired, safe script that catered more to the whims of its two lead actors than to needs of story and character. It was further hampered by miserable direction by Stuart Baird. This edit tries to remove many of the sillier and offensive moments of the movie, with biggest change being the complete removal of the B4 Android subplot, and leaving the audience with a darker character piece that focusses solely on Picard vs. Shinzon.

Inline ImageCAPTAIN AMERICA: THE STEVE ROGERS CUT by AEMOVIEGUY, has been released!

A fun, Saturday-Matinee, Action/Adventure, tightly focused on Captain America, The Steve Rogers Cut quickens the pace, energizes the action, and re-structures the narrative in humorous and exciting ways to create a very different introduction to The First Avenger.

AEMOVIEGUY: "This is my first fanedit that is not trying to fix anything because I found Captain America: The First Avenger to be quite charming and old-fashioned fun. The Steve Rogers Cut is an alternative Fanmix to the original that gave me the creative freedom to work with a movie I already enjoyed. But even for movies I like, I have nitpicks: An over-exposed yet under-developed villian, a framing device that spoils the ending, some cringe-worthy dialogue and off comedic timing, a slow middle section, and action that never fully energized me. Additionally, there are some surprises along the way.
